This month Peter mounted the seat belts and wiper system.
All three seat belts for the sofa |
A retractor lap belt for the front seats. |
Starting to mount the wiper system |
Pivots from the inside |
Wiper motor |
Viewed from above. |
Hung the last two doors. |
Two bin doors this side |
and three this side |
Peter cleaned the bin area. |
Trimmed the bottom edge |
The rear door fitted with gas struts |
This looks good. |
And after the bin door distraction...
It is back to the wiper system |
Mounted the washer bottle |
It hard to see, but the window is wet from the window washer test. |
59th month (May 2009)
This month Peter mounted the headlights and started on the front jacks.
The headlight assembly is bolted to the rear. |
A nice coat of black paint. |
Headlights test (high-beam) | Headlights with their covers |
Here is the low/high beam foot switch | Mounted the last remaining lights for the side. |
The front is almost complete. |
The front jacks are next. |
These are the mounting plates. |
They are 10mm thick with M14 bolts as studs. |
One plate is welded on the frame. |
Soon this area will be painted. |
60th month (June 2009)
This month Peter will finish mounting the front jacks and paint under the front wheel arches... and start mounting the rear levelling jacks.
The front wheel arches are painted with an etch/primer |
Then Peter with wet-on-wet applied a black top coat and an underbody deadener. |
Hub painted |
And black top coat. It is not heat resistant so may well burn off when the brakes heat up |
The speckled looking paint is the underbody deadener. |
The front jack mounted. |
The front is done. |
The front wheel rims are cleaned and painted with etch
primer and then a white top coat.
|
The chrome wheel ring was polished and all together looks very smart. |
In the mean time Peter put the front indicators on. All the lights are now on the motorhome |
Time for the rear. Passenger side first. | It is quite the factory in there. |
The rear jack goes here. Between the drive and slave axels |
These are the two rear jack mounting plates. |
Peter attached the jack to the mounting plate and together jacked it up |
Here the plate is welded. Ready for painting, next month... |
